Holyoak uses his body to begin these (mostly) large pieces of creatures. His body makes the initial forms and then he augments them. Even after reading the literature on the process it still isn't terribly clear precisely what the process IS. But it doesn't matter. The pieces are striking--especially seen as a group.
The Galerie Donald Brown booth is one of the most striking (and crowd-gathering) at Expo Chicago, even in the far corner.
