Anna Zorina Gallery (New York) Presents the Second Annual Heart Of Art NY Exhibit

Anna Zorina Gallery (533 West 23rd St., New York) presents the second annual "Heart Of Art NY." There will be an opening from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, September 4, 2014.

The exhibit celebrates the resilience and creativity of New York City. The exhibit presents the work of five artists: John Taki, Shaun Ellison, Alexander Kaletski, Federica Marangoni and Emil Robinson.

The exhibit has its origins in the tragedy of 9/11 yet the first edition wasn't a maudlin look backwards at an act of madness; it was a celebration of life and rebirth. Expect new perspectives from artists of different backgrounds.

Two Shores Away and Still Sloshing

Asya Geisberg Gallery (537B West 23rd St., New York) runs Lotus Eaters, an exhibition of work by painter, Melanie Daniel, September 4 to October 11, 2014. There will be an opening reception 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday Septembe. Daniel, a Canadian-Israeli artist, completed both her BFA and MFA at Bezalel Academy Israel. She has had solo exhibits at galleries and museums in Israel and abroad.

This new exhibit is a depature for the artist. Previously her work was charged with politics wheras this exhibit is more languorous and hallucinatory. She is creating a sort of visual language based on anxiety based on turmoil in the Middle East. The result has the tinge of apocalypse.

The Chicago Artist's Coalition Announces Galleries For Edition Chicago 2014 (September 19-21, 2014)

The Chicago Artist's Coalition's Edition Chicago have announced the galleries for the upcoming event (September 19-21, 2014). Edition Chicago takes place at the same time as Expo Chicago, the city's exposition of contemporary and modern art. As I have mentioned before this holding of multiple events simultaneously makes Chicago more of an art destination.

Galleries at this year's Edition include; Chicago Artists Coalition (Chicago), Gallery 19 (Chicago), Steven Harvey (New York City), Museum of Contemporary Photography (Chicago), Ochi Shop (Ketchum, Idaho), David Peterson Gallery (Minneapolis), The Pitch Project (Milwaukee), Andrew Rafacz Gallery (Chicago), Segura Arts Studio (South Bend, Indiana),THE MISSION (Chicago), Vertical Gallery (Chicago) and Yaupetec (Mexico City).

Kashya Hildebrand (London) Presents "A Hidden Order," An Exhibit Of Music, Geomtric Art--A Meeting Of Western And Islamic Art

Kashya Hildebrand (22 Eastcastle Street, W1W 8DE, London) presents A Hidden Order, an exhibition that brings music, art and geometry together in the context of Western and Islamic Art. The exhibit runs from September 10 through October 11, 2014.

The music and art of Lee Westwood and gemoetric art of Sama Mara are featured. The work is based on Mara's theory of how sound, color and pattern relate. The sound and visual combine to demonstrate how the principles that form the foundation for rhythm and pitch are the same as in geometry.

There will be a private preview from 6 to 9 p.m. that will include a live performance and screening. Free admission but RSVP required (space is limited).
