Their website, linked above, is a great place to learn about Cuban artists. One of the artists here, Roberto Fabelo, was born in Camagüey, Cuba in 1951.
Fabelo is a painter, illustrator professor who has received some of Cuba's highest art awards (Medal for National Culture, the Alejo Carpentier Medal).
His pieces often feature women with "bird-like" features. The piece here also includes a bird. One of his most well known works,Survival, a sculpture, features human headed cockroaches climbing the wall of the Havana Fine Arts Museum. He also illustrated a version of Gabriel Garcia Marquez' One Hundred Years of Solitude.
