Brandi Twilly's "The Living Room" Runs July 26 To August 26, 2016 At Sargents Daughters (New York)7/22/2016 Brandi Twilly's The Living Room runs July 26 to August 26, 2016 at Sargents Daughters (179 East Broadway, New York). There will be a reception from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 26. Twilley, from memory, google searches and dreams and polaroids, recreates her childhood home that burned down when she was a teenager in 1999. She presents the room in question from different angles and from many years until its eventual destruction in flame. You won't see people in the paintings but you will feel them there. This will likely be an exhibit that makes viewers recall their past and memories of it. There is a challenge to realism here in that what we recall is its own reality not the actual reality of the time in our memory. Twilly lives in Brooklyn and has an MFA from Yale.
