Tomás Saraceno (from Berlin) and the Aerocene present Albedo, a sustainable, site specific installation during Miami Art Week from December 5 to 9, 2018 at the Oceanfront, between 21st & 22nd Streets, Miami Beach.
There will be a variety of public programming including daily solar flight performances, talks and solar cooking on the ocean sandlot across from Collins Park.
Aerocene and Saraceno developed the installation, a large-scale land based pavilion with 40 reflective, upturned umbrellas in various sizes. This creates a sundial on the oceanfront. The structure harnesses solar energy to lift the "Aerocene Explorer" (pictured) into the air, a floating sculpture.
There will also be an Art Basel Artist Talk with Tomás Saraceno and Hans Ulrich Obrist at 10 a.m., Friday December 7 in the West Lobby of the Miami Beach Convention Center.
