Now TYFA are going to be part of the Getty Museum’s initiative, Pacific Standard Time: Art in L.A. 1945-1980. This involves over 60 cultural institutions across Southern California. They are all joining to weave together the story of the L.A. art scene. Pacific Standard Time takes place for six months and begins in October, 2011.
TYFA’s contribution is an exhibition of L.A. photographer, Jim McHugh. The exhibit, Studio visits, opens October 13 and includes photos of; David Hockney, Don Bachardy, Ed Moses, John Baldessari, Robert Irwin, Sam Francis, Dennis Hopper, Lita Albuquerque, Ed Ruscha and more. Some of these photos have never been exhibited. Others are original prints from the era.
