Connecticut-born Taylor started out as a graffiti artist but his work recalls Jean Dubuffet or August Macke as much as Swoon or Shepard Fairey. It isn't work that is stuck in the past nor is it work locked in the embrace of the latest fad.
He uses a variety of media in his work from spray paint to oil paint. He also tosses in the odd "found object." Yes, a lot of artists use these things? But Martinez uses them well.
