Thrush Holmes' All Lit Up On Wine, Opens January 24, 2014 At Mike Weiss Gallery (520 West 24 NYC) and runs until March 1. There will be a reception from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, January 24.
This is Holmes' solo debut. He works with wood, spray paint and neon tubing in his work. He is re-imagining the still-life as fetish, as an item of worship (almost).
He lives and works in Toronto and has been exhibited extensively in his home country. Work is held in the collections of Defjam, Sony Dreamworks and the Elton John Aids Foundation etc.
