The McLoughlin Gallery (San Francisco) showed work by Sarah Ratchye and Arnix Wilnoudt at Scope Miami Beach 2016.
Wilnoudt is a Dutch artist conceptual artist whose pieces are meant to make you think. Sure, most art is like that but these have specific notions in mind. His work has a strong anti-authoritarian streak.
Ratchye's work often reflects her fascination with dreams. I am not certain if these pieces fall into this category. She also creates with an eye to space travel and the human desire for transcendence to the divine. Again? I am not sure about the gun pieces below and how they fit into this. I took them, as I have other artists who make porcelin guns, of taking something associated with violence and making it aesthetically beautiful. The artist's intent may well be different.
