Coobled Together by Ted Larsen
Two of the artists shown by Dallas’ Conduit Gallery are Ted Larsen and Justin Quinn. The former produced the eye catching sculpture, Cobbled Together, and the latter the ink, silver point, gold point and graphite on paper, Ancient and Un-Entered Forests.
Cobbled Together has a ramshackle feel. It instantly calls to mind an dilapidated building (I thought “New Orleans” or small Gulf Coast towns in Mississippi I have driven through in years past). But it isn’t necessarily that is it?
The photo of Quinn’s piece is marred by the reflection but it is a piece (one of two shown by Conduit) that, from a distance looks overwhelmed by the black background. But that just seems to bring out the underlying glow.
