Gallagher is from Morristown, New Jersey and attended Connecticut College and then received a MFA from he School of the Museum of Fine Arts (Boston).
This exhibition is an exploration of the sacred and the profane. The title comes from Marguerite Porete, a Christian mystic burned at the stake for writing a treatsie on the ecstacy of the soul in love. The works examine eros in relation to various religions. This is, interestingly, work with no figures.
