The artist is an Ifá priest. Ifá is the West African religion that is, for lack of a better way of putting it, the basis for Santeria and many other New World religions. It is Yoruba in origin.
Olazabal is from Havana and still lives in the city. His work has been shown worldwide going back over 35 years. Olazabal's art is held in numerous prestigious collections.
