Red Corridor Gallery (Fulda) showed paintings by Leszek Skurski at Scope Miami Beach 2014.
Skurski, a Polish-born artist, uses white backgrounds with small, but emphasized figures in the pieces (including Darth Vader in some pieces you can see on the artist's website).
You can see the broad strokes of his brushwork in the open space, creating depth (actually these would be neat paintings even without the figures). But the figures add something as well, they draw the viewer closer and make you take in more than the broad details of the work.
