Lear's paintings, sculptures and installations mix all three media together, mixing these art forms in an architectural context. They emphasize innocence, happiness and whimsey. Lear is a current MFA candidate at American University. He is from Lancaster, Pennsylvania and has been shown in a number of group shows, notably Flavor of the Month at American University.
Weiss creates encaustic sculptures with bright palletes and primordial forms. The pieces also include intricate details that might escape the viewer's first glance. Her works, in some cases, call to mind biology and, in others, ancient artifacts.Weiss has been showing work for over 15 years. She is a sculptor, painter, mixed media artist and a curator. Her work has been shown at Washington Project for the Arts, Artomatic, Touchstone Gallery, Warehouse Gallery and many others. She has a BA from Smith College and a law degree from Boston University. Weiss has taken advanced art classes at Corcoran.
