Fleck, a German painter, paints crowd scenes, cityscapes as well as single color pieces depicting the Alps. His pieces are impressions, not representations of actual cities or mountains (or presumably, piles of books). For some reason these buildings remind me of the cakes of Wayne Thiebaud.
Derges' work often captures nature or science in the form of a print. She pioneered exposing photographs by placing them in the running water of a river (etc). Her pieces, like the C-print below, often seem to move.
