P.P.O.W (New York) showed work by Robins F. Williams and Ramiro Gomez at Art Basel 2018.
Gomez, from San Bernadino, creates work depicting working people, the folks who are the backbone of our society. It is a little more than vaguely ironic to see them on display at Art Basel. It is also vaguely heartening. We've written about the artist before (here). You can also check out his website HERE.
Williams, a graduate of Rhode Island School of Design, is based in Brooklyn. This piece is a little cheerier than other pieces you may see. Many are also more realistic (stretching the notion of "realism" on my part here). There is always a whiff of magic in her work. Even son, there is something real even in the oddest representations by Williams.
