Peter Sorel, film photographer, has worked on hundreds of movies. Some of the prominent movies he's been a part of include Twilight, Life of Pi, Easy Rider and Frida. He creates stills and movie post images in his work--as well as some newer, more abstract work based on Lake Michigan. He has two upcoming shows of his work. One opens February 20, 2014 at Hilton Asmus Contemporary and the other March 1, 2014 at Union League Club.
Sorel moved to Chicago from Los Angeles six years ago. He has worked on movie sets for over 40 years. Some of his images were never used for promotional purposes and are, thus, a look behind the scenes.
Not all his work, however, is movie-related. Since moving to Chicago he has begun to focus on personal images (including abstracts of Lake Michigan).
