The project, titled Perrier-Jouët presents Small Discoveries by mischer’traxler is an ongoing collaboration between the two that will continue through the next year. Mischer’traxler’s master work of Small Discoveries is called Ephemerā and it appears at Design Miami December 2 to 6, 2014.
Perrier-Jouët has been involved with noted designers since working with Émile Gallé, famed Art Noveau glass artist, in the early 1900s. Gallé created the company's Belle Époque in 1902, two years befor his death. The company holds the largest private collection of Art Noveau pieces.
But it isn't all about the past--they continue to patronize contemporary designers whose work will someday join this collection.
Mischer‘traxler mix tradition with new technology in their design. When you see their work you note a certain familiarity but as you continue to peruse you will see a plethora of new bits of "design dialogue." Katharina Mischer and Thomas Traxler are the duo that make up the studio. They design products, furniture, installations and more.
Perrier-Jouët is the official champagne partner of Design Miami. They will serve their Belle Époque cuvee champagne at the Design Miami/Collectors lounge.
