Washington DC) opens Permanent Summer, a show of screen printed works by 30 artists using bold colors and hand drawn imagery. The collection includes art prints, installations, band posters and other modern pop psychedelic works.
There will be an opening reception from 6:30 to 9 p.m.. There will also be an after party at Black Cat Red Room Bar at 9 p.m. Live music with OBB IIIs and Ex-Cult. Two for one admission with your Permanent Summer handbill.
The art in the exhibit (or a good deal of it) is inspired by music and many of the artists started in art doing show posters and album art work. One of the great things about vinyl records, in addition to the sound, is the art.
The exhibit is curated by Curated by Michelle Cable, Rob Corradetti and Mike Zimmerman.
