Nielsen's work could simply be classic portraiture but for a mix of the macabre and what seems a wry sense of humor. She holds a masters in clothing design from the Royal Danish Academy of Design. Her clothing must be incredible if it, in any way, resembles her art. Her work is about the self and women making sense of their place in the world. Each piece seems to be a frame from a story.
