This is an exhibit, broken down into seven different parts of life—and specifically how life is seen in different times and cultures. The truly fascinating part is that these photos are collected from a wide swath of time and a divergent group of photographers.
True, forcing some of these photos into the seven categories is not necessarily seamless. The written introduction when you walk into the exhibit admits as much but the general theme holds and the photos are moving. They different styles and different photographers also add an unusual perspective. How many other themed exhibits feature works by Annie Leibovitz, Gordon Parks, Dorothea Lange, Nan Goldin and many others?
The exhibit opened June 5 and will be on display until September 25. The Museum of Art is located in downtown Fort Lauderdale at One East Las Olas Boulevard (at Andrews Avenue).
