Her work is largely “movables” her own portable or mobile architecture. But her work is more than just the objects but the movement and interaction with them. This exhibition will include interactive objects, paintings and videos of her performances. You are, by the way, SUPPOSED to interact with the movables on display.
Her paintings are a tangible “phenomenology” of her objects. Imagine being inside one of the movables looking out then take a look at one of the paintings.
When the project heads out into the street you can participate. Bring a suitcase, shopping cart or any other little home vehicle. At 5:30 p.m. on June 6 the artist and participants will move about the Lower East Side as a group. If you get there after 5:30, do not worry you can get their coordinates and join the group. This will all be filmed. At 630 it is all back to the gallery for the rest of the reception.
Art can be fun. It doesn't HAVE to be but it CAN be.
