The show features work by: Orion Martin, Liz Craft, Barbara Rossi, Heather Guertin and Chanel Von Habsburg-Lothringen. The show was organized by Sayre Gomez and takes its name from a work by Rossi, a teacher at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Rossi is part of the Imagist movement--a group of artists who create pop figures that are borderline grotesque, almost comic book stylings. Rossi's work is often a bit more refined than this.
The other artists are from varying generations but their work and practice have shared characteristics--especially their exaggerated take on the human form.
