Essaydi is from Morocco but now lives in the USA. You can see her work in collections including the Art Institute of Chicago, Williams College Museum of Art, the Fries Museum (Netherlands) and the Kodak Museum of Art. McGill has lived and worked outside of Detroit for the past ten years or so. She is best known as a sculptor but she also creates works on paper. Her sculpture takes some direction from the city.
