The Knight Arts Challenge has announced 75 finalists. There are an astounding list of artists and projects getting grants. The winners will be announced December 1, 2014. Finalists include projects "bringing a little of the Everglades to Miami" and one that connects "artists to the water that surrounds us."
Some of the finalists include Bleeding Palm who plan to create a nonprofit animation studio that will both produce animation and train students and local artists, Bootleggers, a mobile library project and Elizabeth Cerejido who aims to create an exchange program bringing together Cuban artists from Havana and Miami (in partnership with a local university).
