Martínez curated sixty one works from museums and private collectors for the exhibit, Cuban Art & Identity: 1900-1950, currently at the Vero Beach Museum of Art (until February 2) The lecture will focus on theme, be it music, religious tradition, Havana interiors or the Cuban countryside.
Martínez, is a Professor Emeritus in the Department of Art and Art History at Florida International University. He is also the author of Cuban Art & National Identity: The Vanguardia Painters 1927-1950 (1994); and Carlos Enríquez: The Painter of Cuban Ballads (2010).
