Exchange of Fire Joy Garnett's Being There runs October 23 to November 29, 2014 at Platform Gallery (114 Third Ave. South, Seattle). This is the first solo exhibition of paintings by Brooklyn-based Garnett. Garnett's work works with the them of "the unquiet image in the media." This is, of course, a general theme with a number of subcategories.
Garnett is both artist (in numerous disciplines) and writer. She used painting, social media performance and online repositories. She works in between the digital and material world. Her work has been shown extensively including shows at the Whitney, Milwaukee Art Museum, MoMA PS1 and many others.
