Fein's work appeals to the high brow in me. We've seen art on actual match books; these pieces are giant matchbooks. Fein, originally from New York City, has had a rather varied and colorful career; teaching nonviolence as a Quaker, studied pre-med, working at a gay film festival etc. He actually moved to New Orleans to study medicine the week before Katrina struck (apparently not a big fan of the Weather Channel)
Rosato's pieces below are a little tough to see so I include a close-up. She has a BA in Studio Art and Art History and an MFA from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts (Boston).
Chin's pieces, whether painted or made of guns, are obviously provocative. The relatively small painting of the bat and the dove was one of the most eye catching at Miami Project. It is simple and elegant.
