Joe Fleming's Suckerpunch opens at Mike Weiss Gallery (520 West 24th, New York) May 16, 2014. There will be a reception from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 16.
This is Fleming's first New York solo show. His work is created via recycling. This exhibit will tae in the entire gallery and is made up of media such as enamel to spray foam and insulation. He doesn't just hang things he finds on the wall; do not get this idea. He incorporates items as textures in his paintings creating images that resonate even outside their physical boarders. This work is part iconography, part Pop Art and abstraction.
