Volcano's Ghosts by Alejandro Salazar Jenny Green Gallery (Bend) showed pieces by Alejandro Salazar and Jennifer Hirschfield at Aqua Miami Beach 2015.
Salazar's work reminds me of Latin American artists from an earlier era--especially those influenced by the cubists (not that these pieces themselves seem "cubist").
Hirshfield's piece is this broadly sketched work with little details here and there that draw your eyes to them. These bits of color on the shoulder and tail, to me, seemed to have figures in them--then I thought "oh, that's just me." It is a piece that makes you look closer.
