Gordon Onslow Ford's The Painter And The Muse was presented at Art Basel by Francis M. Naumann Fine Art. Onslow Ford's work was of the Surrealist school. He was the son of one of Queen Victoria's favorite artists. It is really curious to imagine what she would have made of the younger Onslow Ford's art. I suspect it would have totally freaked her out. Like "WWWWHHiHHAAAT?" sort of freak out.

I have a soft spot for the basic philosophy of Surrealism but it may be as much my interpretation of the implications rather than the intent of the original surrealists. The idea of beauty without any meaning attached should appeal to everyone.
