George Jenne’s Spooky Understands runs from May 30 to July 6, 2013 at frosch&portmann (53 Stanton Street, NYC). The solo exhibit features two HD videos and during the “feature,” Spooky Understands, an eight year old angle speaks of her infatuation with a failed man spinning out of control due to guilt.
The exhibit is more than video. Jenne turns the gallery into a haunting vision via a multi-sensory installation of video, text and sculpture. You will feel the narrator whispering to you .
Jenne is a native or Richmond who lives in Brooklyn and Chapel Hill. His BFA is from RISD and his MFA from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
