Conradie, best known as a printmaker, obviously also tries her hand at bricolage wall sculptures. She was born in Namibia and is a lecturer on printmaking at Stellenbosch University. Her bricolage pieces incorporate items that are pregnant with meaning in the context of South African history. they examine the segregation and colonialism of the Apartheid era. Bongoy is a Congolese artist whose work, like Conradie's, uses discared or found items. His work is, entirely different in style and form to Conradie's. His work uses discarded rubber. These wall pieces are only part of this picture. He incorporates these strips in figures and tapestries exploring human behavior--especially related to migration.
