Galerie Thomas (Munich) showed work by Andre Lhote at Art Basel Miami Beach 2016. Lhote began working in wood carving and later studied decorative sculpture at Ecole des Beaux-Arts (Bordeaux). His painting began as something he did in his spare time.
After moving to Paris in 1906 he apparently began to have more of a focus on the medium. In 1910 he had his first solo exhibition. Lhote was also a teacher of and writer on art.
