The upper painting was finished in 1936 an the lower in 1986, 50 years apart. This is apropos of nothing but it is interesting; which seems more modern to you?
Delaunay, a French artist who was one of the founders of the Orphism movement, worked in geometric shapes but with pronounced colors. His work would later on become more abstract and less geometric. He was being shown by multiple galleries this year in Miami; perhaps showing his work gathering more some more traction 60 plus years after his death (or maybe just more work on the market this year).
Barceló started studying arts and crafts and moved into the avantgarde via the Taller Lunatic group. He is a painter and sculptor with a wide range of influences. His website is currently under construction but keep googling.
