Galeria Machete (Mexico City) showed work by Antone Könst at Untitled Miami Beach 2017. The artist believes that images have no single, fixed meaning but are malleable and open to interpretation. He takes "meaningful but cliched tropes" and works on them to, in a sense, open them to our varied readings. His work sometime borrows form ancient and medieval imagery and styles but he is obviously no stranger to modernism.
Könst holds a BFA from CalArts and an MFA from Yale. Find out more about the artist at antonekonst.com.
