Gabe Brown and Akemi Maegawa's Along the Enchanted Way runs September 12 to October 28, 2018 at Adah Rose Gallery (3766 Howard Ave. Kensington, MD). The vernissage takes place 6:00-8:00 p.m. Saturday, September 15.
Brown's abstract landscapes leap off the surface with color that teams with the diversity of nature. The interplay between the rich colors and shades combine with the artist's own motifs and delicate lines. She creates a magical space in her work.
Maegawa works in ceramics (and other media). The pieces here include darumas, vessels and housing market miniatures. The work is delicate and intimage and questions the human condition along with politics, history and life in general.
