There will be an opening reception from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday January 27. This follows a 6 to 7 p.m. talk with the artist and María Elena Ortiz, Associate Curator, Pérez Art Museum Miami.
This is the first exhibit from the artist with the gallery and also her first in San Francisco. The work investigates black social and political resistance from the global diaspora. Various experiences from around the globe are explored. The pieces on view include paintings and drawings from the past year and include work from a recent exhibition at the Utah Museum of Contemporary Art.
