Consuegra seems to be an eclectic artist.
There are references to the technique of artists such as John Baldessari, Christopher Wool and Gerhard Richter. Also, Consuergra, worked at the Pasadena Museum of History where he was transfixed by photos of a local photographer of area businesses, J. Allen Hawkins. Consuegra took these photos as “memories” but memories he never actually had. He was in the area but these photos were a parallel record to his actual memories.
This inspires part of his work.
If you are able go to see the exhibit. There is more to his art than simply this. Consuegra has been part of numerous group exhibitions in Los Angeles and has had a number of solo shows in the area as well.
