One of the important parts of Art Miami New York was the number of Miami galleries represented (news that the show is being "re-branded" as Art New York is a disappointment). These galleries often focus on Latin American art De Szyszlo is a Peruvian painter, engraver and sculptor. He studied at Catholic University in Lima (School of Plastic Arts) and then lived in Paris. He was originally studying to be an architect. His work shows influences from a variety of schools of art--from cubism to surrealism to abstract work. His pieces are held in numerous important public collections such as: Museum of Modern Art (NY), the Guggenheim, Museo de Arte Contemporaneo Arequipa (Peru) and numerous others. He currently lives in Lima.
