Design Miami 2014 was where fine art meets design. Sure, lots of this design might not be practical. Think of it instead as the clothing on a Paris or Milan runway, not something you would wear every day but something that is cutting edge, fun, ironic or just plain beautiful.

My favorite (given that I have the mentality of a 14 year old) is the piece from Carpenter's Workshop Gallery at the bottom. If I had he money this would be in my living room.
Joking aside? Design is sometimes tough for people interested in fine art to place but it is very much that. Many well thought of fine artists of the past have worked in porcelain, furninture and decorative pieces. The pieces shown here are fine art as much as they are design.
