The Gift of Lineage #6 De Bucks Gallery (New York City) showed work by Stephen Towns at Untitled Miami Beach 2019. Untitled is holding an online fair that begins July 31.
Towns work has an icongraphic feel. The dimensions, the halos and they mythology, the stories, in these pieces sometimes looks like Medieval Italy and at other times like earlier images from Byzantium.
Of course, they are MODERN, tweaked versions of that style, not some rote copy of them. It is probably better to say there are elements of those old iconographic styles used to tell new stories..
