Wilson's pieces are covered with what I assumed were some sort of staple. The work takes on wildly different characteristics depending on your angle and distance while viewing. They are unique and require close examination. There is a roughness to them but at the same time an elegance.
His work is about the marginalization of the black body in our society. These pieces obscure the bodies of the black people in them. He uses old lotto tickets, event fliers and other bits of urban detritus in his work as well. Look close and you will see them in these pieces.
This isn't the only sort of work Wilson does; his work is varied and you can see more HERE.
