Cleve Carney Art Gallery opens February 6, 2014 at The McAnnich Arts Center (425 Fawell Blvd. College of DuPage, Glen Ellyn, IL) with "Selecton of Art Works From The Cleve Carney Collection." The exhibit runs until March 29. There will be a public gallery dedication at 3 p.m., Sunday February 16.
The gallery and this show are the result of Carney's bequeathing 40 percent of his art collection to the college. This includes paintings sculpture and digital media. The art will be displayed throughout the campus. The collection features but is not limited to work by a variety of Chicago Imagists.
Artists include Mel Bochner, Christo and Jeanne-Claude, Cat Chow, Julia Fish, John Fraser, Pia Fries, Leon Golub, Arturo Hererra, Jenny Holzer, Markus Linnenbrink, Judy Ledgerwood, Robert Motherwell, Jim Nutt, Catherine Opie, Roxy Paine, John Phillips, John Pittman, Karen Reimer, Aurora Robson, David Shrigley, Ann Wilson, Zhou Brothers etc.
