San Francisco) is set to open a memorial exhibit for Chad Buck. The exhibit opens May 2 and runs until June 29, 2013. There will be an opening reception from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday May 4, 2013.
Buck passed away this past February in Mexico and the exhibit will celebrate the artist's work and life. He was a noted San Francisco Bay-area printmaker and painter. He worked for over 30 years in the area. Newer works--abstracts--will be shown. Buck used unusual materials in his work such as enamal on burlap. His pieces are vibrant and expressive.
Buck, originally from Idaho, received his MFA from BYU. His work has been exhibited worldwide. He was the recipient of the Pollack-Krasner Foundation Grant. He had two studios, one in Oakland and the other in Puerto Vallarta.
