Bitforms Gallery (New York) showed work by Jonathan Monaghan at Untitled Miami Beach 2017. Monaghan works in print, video installation and, obviously, sculpture.
This sculpture is part Baroque and part Aliens. This looks like a vase from some high-concept sci-fi video game--some sort of Easter egg that bites a player's arm off if they get too close. His work has been exhibited worldwide, including as part of New Frontier at the Sundance Film Festival.
Monaghan holds a BFA from N.I.T and an MFA from the University of Maryland.
