(Art)Xiomas - CUBAAHORA: The Next Generation--A Contemporary Cuban Art Exhibition runs June 9 to August 7, 2016 at The Art Museum of the Americas (Washington D.C.). There will be an opening reception from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 9. The opening featuers music by the Cuatro Esquinas and Gato Gatel & Pavel Urkiza Quartet.
The exhibit is part of an effort to celebrate current Cuban art and is a celebration of the centennial of José Gómez Sicre. Sicre is the museum's founding director. The artists feature work with an eye to history but techniques and aesthetics planted in the today.
