We mostly write about Art Basel Miami Beach (not travelling with great frequency to Switzerland is part of the reason for this). But, Art Basel’s 44th edition in Basel, Switzerland takes place from June 13 through June 16, 2013. This year’s galleries include 304 presenting work from the Modern period of the 20th century to contemporary artists.
Galleries from 39 countries/territories from five continents will participate.
The show has a new space this year within the extension of Hall 1. The extension was designed by Swiss architects Herzog and de Meuron. It is directly on the Messeplatz. The existing part of Hall 1 will be given to Unlimited, the Statemetns and magazine sections.
If you will be anywhere near and are a serious collector—or have a serious interest in art, attendance is pretty close to mandatory.
