Afro-Cuba: Mystery & Magic of Afro-Cuban Spirituality runs at OAS F Street Gallery (1889 F Street, NW, Washington DC) May 4 To June 17, 2016. There will be an opening reception at 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 4. The exhibit is based on a four-year research and documentary project by Italian anthropologist and photographer Anthony Caronia.

The photos in this exhibit look offer a chance to look at various aspects of this spirituality and encourages contemplation of the origins and connection to self-identity. Here is a religion with a limited delineation between the spiritual and the secular.
African-Americans--using the term in the broadest sense--include some 200 million people throughout the Americas.They are frequently the most vulnerable groups in the hemisphere. The OAS and Summits of the Americas Process have been at the forefront of calling for inclusion and respect for human rights.
