Adelson Galleries (New York/Boston) showed work by Jamie Wyeth and Federico Uribe at Context Miami 2016.
Wyeth (you may recognize the surname) is the son of Andrew Wyeth and grandson of N.C. Wyeth. He is known for his portraits and depictions of events from modern American history. He is also known for landscapes of the Northeast. He works in different mediums. This particular painting is oil and watercolor on canvas.
Uribe, originally from Columbia, studied painting in Bogata and New York City. After years of working on painting he moved into doing something a little different; he creates art out of various objects: pencils, spent shell casings, wire, shoe laces and other odds and ends. Other artists incorporate day to day objects in their work but Uribe creates a style exclusively his.
